Acclaimed Michelin-star chef Dominique Crenn, the only woman with three Michelin stars in the United States for her Atelier Crenn in San Francisco, has created twelve original dishes for Air France customers to enjoy in the La Première and Business cabins. Every month, Air France will offer two signature dishes in each cabin, including a vegetarian option and a fish dish.

Lobster, pico de gallo and tea sauce or root vegetable mille-feuille with truffle sauce are just two examples of the culinary genius of the chef in the La Première cabin. In Business, customers can enjoy Californian charbonnier with quinoa and marinière sauce or open raviole, courgette and tomato, hazelnut and parmesan sauce, among other culinary delights.

Since 1 February 2024, these dishes have been available on departure from Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, New York-Newark, San Francisco, and Seattle. They will gradually be available on departure from all Air France destinations* in the United States during the 2024 spring-summer season.

Air France + Poetic French Cuisine

The only woman with three Michelin stars in the United States for her Atelier Crenn in San Francisco, Dominique Crenn is committed to developing inventive and poetic French cuisine for Air France customers, with a focus on local and seasonal produce.

As part of the fight against food waste, Air France is also offering its customers travelling in the Business cabin the possibility of pre-selecting their hot dish up to 24 hours before their flight. This service combines the guaranteed availability of the customer’s choice with fairer consumption on board.

With this new signature chef, Air France is continuing to develop its exceptional collaborations from its international stations to Paris. The airline is also working with Julien Royer on departure from Singapore, Olivier Perret on departure from Canada, Jofrane Dailly on departure from La Réunion and Jean-Charles Bredas on departure from the French West Indies, French Guiana and on its regional Caribbean network.

Air France Links Paris to the United States

From 13 May 2024, Air France will resume services to Minneapolis (Minnesota). From 23 May 2024, the airline will launch a new route from Paris-Charles de Gaulle to Phoenix (Arizona), bringing the number of destinations available in the United States next summer to 17.

About Dominique Crenn

Dominique Crenn grew up in France, where she developed a keen interest in cooking with her parents, who appreciated fine dining. In 1988, she left France to move to the United States to pursue her culinary aspirations. She began by apprenticing for over two years with chefs Jeremiah Tower and Mark Franz at their famous Stars restaurant in San Francisco. She then made history as the first female executive chef in Jakarta (Indonesia), where she ran the kitchen at the Intercontinental Hotel.

A decade later, she returned to San Francisco to head up the kitchen at Luce, the restaurant at the Intercontinental Hotel, where she was awarded her first Michelin star in 2009 and a second in 2010. Driven by the desire to create a deeply personal project, in 2011 she opened Atelier Crenn, a place to express her creativity and French heritage, where art is at the forefront, cuisine a true craft and the community a source of inspiration. In less than a year, the Atelier Crenn was awarded its first Michelin star, followed by two stars the following year. Dominique Crenn became the first woman chef in the United States to receive this honour. In 2015, she opened a second restaurant in San Francisco, Petit Crenn, and published her first cookbook, Atelier Crenn Metamorphosis of Taste.

In 2016, she received the award for the world’s best female chef from the World’s 50 Best Restaurants. In November 2018, she broke her own record and became the first woman chef in the United States to receive three Michelin stars. She also opened two other restaurants: Bar Crenn in San Francisco in 2018 (one Michelin star) and Golden Poppy in 2023, her first concept in Paris. An artist at heart, Dominique Crenn will be offering inventive and poetic French cuisine on board Air France flights in 2024.

She is also committed to sustainable cuisine by, among other things, sourcing local ingredients, reducing food waste and ensuring the well-being of her employees.
