The British Motor Museum in Gaydon is home to the world’s most impressive collection of historic British Cars, more than 400, spanning the classic, vintage and veteran eras. But this summer, the museum shifts into high gear with a supercharged calendar of events that’s chock-a-block with fun activities, rallies and events for all ages.

Brand new this year is the Italian Wheels event on September 16, a celebration of Italian supercars, scooters and even tractors. The British Motor Museum also kicked off a brand-new exhibition entitled “The Gallery: Auto Art at the British Motor Museum”, which will run until 30 June 2023. The exhibition features a collection of more than 30 motoring-related pieces from seven of Britain’s most creative automotive artists and sculptors.

Best of all—the award-winning museum is freezing ticket prices at 2022 rates.

Tom Caren, Show Manager at the British Motor Museum, said, “We’re really looking forward to 2023 with an action-packed schedule that is sure to delight show-goers and visitors. As well as our much-loved and popular shows, we also look forward to hosting some brand new shows and welcoming visitors who might not have been to the British Motor Museum before”.

What’s On This Summer?

Summer is here, which means there’s loads of time to take part in the activities, shows and events

Some of this summer’s highlights include:

-The Gaydon Gathering, an informal evening that takes place outdoors on the Museum’s arenas on the second Tuesday every month, bringing hundreds of vehicles of all makes and models. Future Gaydon Gathering dates are 11 July, 8 August, 12 September and 10 October.

Mini Motorists Mondays are back. Head down to the museum with your little one every 3rd Monday of the month from 10.30am to 12pm for imaginative play and a story.

-Popular shows include the Banbury Run on 18 June, the largest gathering of motorcycles and three-wheelers produced before 1931, with up to 500 entrants.

-If you like Fords, then you’ll love the Ford Nationals on 25 June, featuring hundreds of modern, classic and commercial Ford vehicles.

-The British Motor Museum has partnered with the Transport Museum Wythall for a July 1 event that expects more than a hundred vintage and modern buses from all across the country at the annual Wythall BusFest at Gaydon . The show is well on its way to becoming the largest bus rally in the UK.
