Finding a moment of Zen on the high seas is the ultimate luxury adventure, and Star Clippers has signed up more qualified instructors for its yoga cruises, each employed to teach you to balance on one leg in the middle of the Med, among other tricks of the trade.
Passengers are invited to take part in complimentary sessions of Astanga yoga, also known as Power Yoga, on the open-air, sun-warmed teak decks, under thousands of square feet of billowing sails. There are two sessions per day: one in the cool morning air and a second just before sunset, followed by meditation.
Instructors also deliver talks on yoga philosophy and tip for practicing yoga back on terra firma, in the comfort of your own home.
Star Clippers sailing ships feel like your own private yacht
The Ships
Its 42-sail, five-masted, 134-metre Royal Clipper is the world’s largest square-rigger, and was inspired by the Preussen tall ship. It has a three-deck atrium, three swimming pools, as well as the Captain Nemo Lounge with underwater portholes, It carries 227 passengers and a crew of 106.
The twin sister ships Star Clipper and Star Flyer are both 115m and include a library with a Belle Epoque fireplace. They accommodate 116 passengers and boast a helpful and friendly crew of 74.
