Art-filled with plenty of canoodling corners and vintage flair, the new Hôtel des Grands Voyageurs in the Saint-Placide quarter is Paris’s latest boutique hotel jewel.
Designed by internationally renowned Fabrizio Casiraghi, the 138-room retro-inspired hideaway draws aesthetic inspiration from the Golden Age of travel. Guest will also love the carefully curated selection of art from all over the world, including lithographs from Gustav Klimt and Marc Chagall, bespoke mirrors by artist Osanna Visconti di Modrone, and bas-relief sculptures by François Gilles.
Paris Glam Art & Design
Fabrizio Casiraghi, listed in Architectural Digest’s Top 100 Designers worldwide, can be credited for the look and feel of Hotel des Grands Voyageurs and its vibe that feels more akin to a private home of a high-society Parisian art collector than a hotel. His work includes reimaginations of boutique hotels such as Hotel La Ponche in Saint-Tropez and restaurant concepts such as Bagatelle Beach Club in Mykonos.
Cozy Corners and the Grands Voyageurs Brasserie
At the hotel’s heart sits Grands Voyageurs, a vibrant all-day dining room in the form of a transatlantic brasserie, a testament to the love affair between France and the United States. The menu combines French and American influences with a seafood-focused menu. Pop in for classic and comfort food dishes that include pâté en croûte, sole meunière, and Waldorf salad, while the dessert menu features twists on old favourites like apple pie served with crème crue.
After dinner, guests are invited to make their way downstairs to the clandestine world of Poppy, an intimate underground bar with speakeasy appeal for cocktails and clandestine canoodling into the wee hours.
Retro-inspired Guest Rooms
All 138 guest bedrooms are designed with understated elegance and old-world charm, and range from Classic Rooms to Deluxe rooms on higher floors and Junior Suites with seating areas that look out onto Parisian scenes.
In-room amenities from Diptyque add to the quintessential Parisian experience.
Location! Location! Location!
The hotel is located next to Cherche-Midi and in the heart of the 6th Arrondissement, steps from the St. Germain area on Paris’s Rive Gauche (Left Bank). The Left Bank has six arrondissements, and is known for jazz, the Latin quarter, and has a long and pedigree of attracting writers, artists, philosophers and bohemians. Saint-Placide is a peaceful area bordered by the iconic Rue de Sèvres, home of the Grande Epicerie, Le Bon Marché, and the vibrant Cherche-Midi.
Paris is a dine-out city, and the neighbourhood surrounding the hotel is filled with specialty shops, renowned artisans, and ‘Fooding-approved’ cafés and bistros like Ten Belles on Rue du Cherche-Midi or Colorova on Rue de l’Abbé Grégoire.
Guests will also benefit from meeting rooms, a fitness center, and underground car parking, a rarity in the French capital.
